The Research & Development Center plays an absolutely pivotal role in the BTI’s activities. Since it was first established, the research team has been instrumental in developing new products, new materials, and new processes for obtaining biological material through the application of various technologies, foremost of which has been in the field of regenerative therapy. All this combined effort is reflected in the many scientific articles published in the major international journals of special relevance and scientific impact, and in the company winning the Prince Philip Award for Technological Innovation, the first time a biomedical company has been honored in this way.

All this work has meant that BTI has been able to file 23 international patents and to register 232 trademarks in 50 countries.

The main research and development interests for the BTI Biotechnology Institute lie in the areas of:

  • - Oral Implantology
  • - Tissue Repair and Regeneration
  • - Biomaterials

Facilities:

BTI’s Research Center boasts the very best in facilities and infrastructure, which means that it is able to work to the very highest quality standards.

These facilities include the cell culture laboratory, an environment where classified work is carried out in conditions of the greatest safety and sterility, enabling the growth and expansion of different phenotypes.

The laboratory also has a microscopy section where histologic studies are carried out, another section for research in the field of electromedicine, and a section entirely dedicated to technical informatics.

The work carried out in the biological research laboratory, using a multidisciplinary approach and basic experimentation, focuses on developing the knowledge and rationale to support the surgical innovations and regenerative therapies in various areas of medicine, such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, the treatment of musculoskeletal lesions, ulcer treatment, dermatology, anti-aging skin treatments, and ophthalmology. The principal objective is to integrate the knowledge gained from this research in clinical practice, thereby improving the care that our patients receive and their quality of life.
