The Patient's Corner

Pre-op. Instructions.

So as not to find difficulties added to the surgery, it is important for you to follow the instructions below. If you have any doubts, please ask us.

  • » Do not smoke for 15 days before the operation. If you cannot stop smoking completely, reduce your intake to a maximum of 2-3 cigarettes a day.
  • » Remember that it is important to tell us about any medications you are taking.
  • » Taking aspirin or any medication that contain Acetyl Salicilic Acid is strictly forbidden for at least one week before the procedure, because this substance could interfere with blood clotting. Please inform us if you are under treatment with any blood thinners (Sintrom, Adiro, Disgren, etc.).
  • » Come comfortably dressed. If you wish, you can bring another shirt or blouse to change into, as the sterile drapes do not transpire and you might perspire.
  • » Do not eat anything solid for an hour and a half or two hours before the procedure. The last meal beforehand should be a light one.
  • » If you use contact lenses, it would be best not to wear them during the procedure.
  • » Do not apply any makeup.
  • » Starting 3 or 4 days before and until the day of the procedure, you should moisturize both your face and lips to prevent the appearance of cracks.
  • » If you have diabetes, you must let us know and control your medication especially well.
  • » Inform us if you have any type of allergy.
  • » Communicate any change in your state of health immediately.
  • » » Finally, remember that we are always at your disposition to clear up any doubts you might have.
